Got there to find nobody, but thankfully 2 guys showed up so I went out. Played around with the kite as recommended and concluded:
1. Bad workman blaming tools
2. The Sonics is actually a cool kite
3. Unless you have arms like a baboon, DON'T believe the hype about wind ranges!

Put on the board and had a good few runs, although the waves (and wearing bootees) made it quite challenging, sometimes I'd have the board knocked off me feet, but at least I can body drag to get it.

Had a great couple of hours until a rain front arrived so everyone packed up at the same time. As it's still new to me to be up and riding in a semi-controlled manner, I'm still absolutely stoked!!! :-)
